Regular Season Round 17: Anadolu Efes - Crvena Zvezda 104-95

An interesting game took place in Istanbul where higher ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (7-10) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (5-12) 104-95 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Crvena Zvezda. The game without a history. Anadolu Efes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 32-of-36 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game, while Crvena Zvezda only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Crvena Zvezda was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovenian swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) chipped in 20 points. Montenegrin-Serbian power forward Milko Bjelica (207-84, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Crvena Zvezda's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anadolu Efes moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Valencia. Defending Serbian champion Crvena Zvezda dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Anadolu Efes will face league's leader CSKA in Moscow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
