Regular Season Round 13: Familia Schio - UMMC 55-68

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Schio. Second ranked Russian UMMC Ekaterinburg faced 4th placed Italian Familia Schio. Guests from Ekaterinburg (10-3) defeated host Familia Schio (7-6) 68-55. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-55. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated on the defensive end, holding Familia Schio to just 6 points in second quarter. American Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Spanish swingman Alba Torrens (188-89) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Russian champion maintains second place in Group B with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Dynamo K. Loser Familia Schio keeps the fourth position with six games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg will meet bottom-ranked Lattes Montpellier (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Familia Schio will play against Perfumerias Avenida (#5) in Salamanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
