Regular Season Round 20: Real Madrid - Anadolu Efes 87-68
Date: January 25, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (5-15) were rolled over on the road by fourth ranked Spanish Real Madrid (13-7) 87-68 on Thursday. The game without a history. Real Madrid led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Real Madrid outrebounded Anadolu Efes 44-27 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Slovenian swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American Derrick Brown (203-87, college: Xavier) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid moved-up to third place, which they share with Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Anadolu Efes lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Real Madrid will face league's leader CSKA in Moscow in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Anadolu Efes will play at home against Valencia Basket (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
