Very expected game when 8th ranked French Lattes Montpellier (1-13) was smashed at home by second ranked Russian UMMC Ekaterinburg (11-3) 100-61 on Wednesday. The game without a history. UMMC Ekaterinburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Lattes Montpellier's 26. UMMC Ekaterinburg forced 21 Lattes Montpellier turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lattes Montpellier's players. Lattes Montpellier was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Power forward Raisa Musina (191-98) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Romane Bernies (170-93) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Lattes Montpellier. UMMC Ekaterinburg have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion maintains second position in Group B with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Dynamo K. Lattes Montpellier lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost.
