The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Russian CSKA (17-5) on the court of fourteenth ranked Spanish Valencia Basket on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Valencia Basket 103-99. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of CSKA. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 103-99. Valencia Basket made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by CSKA helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Alberto Abalde (202-95) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 assists. Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. French Nando De-Colo (196-87) replied with 30 points and American Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) added 27 points in the effort for CSKA. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Spanish champion (8-14) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Brose Bask. Defending Russian champion CSKA still keeps top position with five games lost. Valencia Basket is looking forward to face league's second-placed Olympiacos in Pireus in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. CSKA will play at home against Baskonia and is hoping to win this game.
