Regular Season Round 26: EA7 Armani - Real Madrid 77-88

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Spanish Real Madrid (16-10) beat on the road 12th ranked Italian Armani Milano (9-17) 88-77. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Armani Milano was better in fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Mexican center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Curtis Jerrells (185-87, college: Baylor, agency: Dutt Sports Services) replied with 18 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Armani Milano. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Madrid maintains fourth position with 16-10 record. Armani Milano at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Real Madrid's next round opponent will be Valencia Basket (#15) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Armani Milano will play against Zalgiris in Kaunas and hope to win that game.
