Regular Season Round 26: Crvena Zvezda - Valencia 106-90

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Spanish Valencia Basket's (9-17) road loss to eleventh ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (11-15) 90-106. Crvena Zvezda made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points. French center Mathias Lessort (206-95, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Rafael Martinez (190-82) replied with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and swingman Joan Sastre-Morro (201-91) added 16 points in the effort for Valencia Basket. Five Crvena Zvezda and four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Serbian champion moved-up to tenth place. Defending Spanish champion Valencia Basket dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Crvena Zvezda's next round opponent will be higher ranked Panathinaikos (#6) in Athens and it may be quite challenging game. Valencia Basket will play at home against Real Madrid (#4) and hope to win that game.
