Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (11-17) defeated on the road 14th ranked Italian Armani Milano (9-19) 93-89. Armani Milano was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 53-46 second half run of Valencia Basket. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Fernando San-Emeterio (199-84) who helped to win the game recording 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Curtis Jerrells (185-87, college: Baylor, agency: Dutt Sports Services) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Spanish champion moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Armani Milano lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with FC Barcelona. Valencia Basket will play against higher ranked Panathinaikos (#5) in Athens in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Armani Milano will play on the road against Brose Baskets (#11) in Bamberg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
