Regular Season Round 28: Khimki - CSKA 73-90

Euroleague top team - CSKA (23-5) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they beat sixth ranked Khimki (16-12) 90-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Khimki. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA. Khimki managed to win third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Khimki 28-17. CSKA looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Liberian-American power forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee Services) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. French Nando De-Colo (196-87) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five CSKA players scored in double figures. CSKA's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 20 points and 8 assists and point guard Egor Vyaltsev (193-85, agency: Alti Sport) added 13 points in the effort for Khimki. CSKA have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion maintains first position with 23-5 record. Khimki at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Zalgiris. CSKA are looking forward to face Zalgiris (#7) in Kaunas in the next round where they are favorite. Khimki will play at home against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
