No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Italian Armani Milano (5-2) beat 13th ranked Turkish Darussafaka (1-6) in Istanbul 98-92 on Thursday. Darussafaka was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 30-23 charge of Armani Milano, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. It was a very good performance for American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. Serbian Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American point guard Ray McCallum (190-91, college: Detroit Mercy) answered with 13 points and 5 assists and Nigerian center Micheal Eric (210-88, college: Temple) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Darussafaka. Five Armani Milano and four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Italian champion maintains fourth place with 5-2 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes and FC Barcelona. Darussafaka lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with six games lost. Armani Milano will face Baskonia (#12) in Vitoria in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
