Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Italian Armani Milano (6-4) and Lithuanian Zalgiris (4-6), which took place in Kaunas. Higher ranked Armani Milano lost to twelfth ranked Zalgiris in a road game 78-83. It looked good early as Armani Milano took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zalgiris had a 22-8 second period charge getting the lead and Armani Milano was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-83. They outrebounded Armani Milano 37-26 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American center Brandon Davies (208-91, college: BYU, agency: BeoBasket) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import point guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St., agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Zalgiris' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) produced 17 points and 7 assists and Lithuanian center Arturas Gudaitis (211-93) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Defending Lithuanian champion moved-up to ninth place, which they share with B.Muenchen. Defending Italian champion Armani Milano keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Zalgiris' next round opponent will be higher ranked Olympiacos (#8) in Pireus and it may be quite challenging game.
