The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Spanish Real Madrid (8-2) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Russian CSKA (9-1) 93-88. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 29-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. CSKA shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) replied with 23 points and Rudy Fernandez (197-85) added 18 points in the effort for Real Madrid. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Russian champion keeps a position of league leader. Defending Spanish champion Real Madrid dropped to the third place with two games lost. CSKA are looking forward to face Baskonia (#12) in Vitoria in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Real Madrid will play on the road against Anadolu Efes (#4) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
