Regular Season Round 5: USK Praha - Castors Braine 82-63

Very expected game when 7th ranked Belgian Castors Braine (1-3) was crushed on the road by second ranked Czech USK Praha (3-1) 82-63 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by USK Praha. Castors Braine was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. USK Praha dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Castors Braine's 40. USK Praha forced 20 Castors Braine turnovers. American forward Alyssa Thomas (188-92, college: Maryland) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. USK Praha's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: Elizabeth City, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds and Russian forward Albina Razheva (189-94, agency: LBM Management) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Defending Czech champion maintains second place in Group A with 3-1 record having just seven point less than leader Atomeromu, which they share with Bourges. Castors Braine lost third consecutive game. Defending Belgian champion keeps the seventh position with three games lost. USK Praha will face Villeneuve D'Ascq (#5) on the road in the next round. Castors Braine will play against Bourges and hope to win that game.
