The most shocking disappointment of round 14 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Baskonia (6-8) to eighth ranked FC Barcelona (7-7) 77-70. Baskonia was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 28-15 charge of FC Barcelona, which allowed them to win the game. French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) scored 11 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian-Slovenian point guard Kevin Pangos (185-93, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-88, college: Northeastern) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FC Barcelona moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Baskonia at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Panathinaikos. FC Barcelona is looking forward to face higher ranked Anadolu Efes (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
