Regular Season Round 20: Real Madrid - Anadolu Efes 92-84

The game between Top Four teams took place in Madrid. Second ranked Spanish host Real Madrid (16-4) defeated one of their biggest challengers Turkish Anadolu Efes (14-6) 92-84. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. They outrebounded Anadolu Efes 40-19 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Real Madrid looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Slovenian Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) who added 24 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Spanish champion maintains second position with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Fenerbahce. Anadolu Efes at the other side keep the third place with six games lost. They share the position with CSKA. Real Madrid are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Darussafaka (#16) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Anadolu Efes will play on the road against Panathinaikos (#12) in Athens and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
