Regular Season Round 3: Valencia - Anadolu Efes 78-83

Not a big story in a game when Spanish Valencia Basket (0-3) was defeated at home by Turkish Anadolu Efes (2-1) 83-78. Valencia Basket was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 30-17 third quarter run of Anadolu Efes. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 assists. Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Belgian point guard Sam Van-Rossom (188-86) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Valencia Basket in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Anadolu Efes' next round opponent will be Real Madrid (#5) at home. Valencia Basket will play against Maccabi T-A (#10) in Tel-Aviv and hopes to get finally their first victory.
