Regular Season Round 4: Maccabi T-A - Valencia 76-63

Bottom-ranked Spanish Valencia Basket is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to tenth ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (2-2) 76-63. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Valencia Basket was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia Basket's 20. Worth to mention a great performance of Liberian-American center Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee Services) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St., agency: Pensack Sports) who added 10 points and 9 assists during the contest. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Fernando San-Emeterio (199-84) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Israeli champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Valencia Basket at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Maccabi T-A will play against Fenerbahce (#17) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valencia Basket will play on the road against the league's second-placed FC Barcelona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
