Regular Season Round 8: CSKA - Fenerbahce 88-70
Date: November 15, 2019
The game had a very big importance for sixth-ranked Russian CSKA as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Armani Milano) loss. CSKA defeated 15th ranked Turkish Fenerbahce in Moscow 88-70. The game without a history. CSKA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) who scored that evening 31 points and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) supported him with 23 points. Even 20 points and 6 assists by Greek point guard Kostas Sloukas (197-90) did not help to save the game for Fenerbahce. American Derrick Williams (203-91, college: Arizona) added 19 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 5 other teams. Fenerbahce at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with six games lost.
