Regular Season Round 10: Milano - Anadolu Efes 76-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Italian Armani Milano (7-3) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Turkish Anadolu Efes (8-2) 81-76. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Armani Milano took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Anadolu Efes had a 25-22 second period charge getting the lead and Armani Milano was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-81. Anadolu Efes made 23-of-24 charity shots (95.8 percent) during the game. German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Shane Larkin (180-92, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. At the losing side Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) responded with 11 points and 9 assists and American-Tunisian swingman Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Armani Milano's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Anadolu Efes have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Turkish champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with FC Barcelona. Armani Milano at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Real Madrid. Anadolu Efes will play against Bayern Muenchen (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Armani Milano will play against Olympiacos (#11) in Pireus and hopes to get back on the winning track.
