Regular Season Round 11: Anadolu Efes - Bayern 104-75

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Anadolu Efes smashed 11th ranked German Bayern Muenchen in Istanbul 104-75. The game without a history. Anadolu Efes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.1 percent from the field and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Anadolu Efes outrebounded Bayern Muenchen 31-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Shane Larkin (180-92, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 49 points (!!!) and 5 assists (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). Center Sertac Sanli (211-91) helped adding 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Serbian Vladimir Lucic (203-89, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and power forward Danilo Barthel (208-91, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes (9-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending German champion Bayern Muenchen dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Bayern Muenchen will play next round against Maccabi T-A trying to get back on the winning streak. Anadolu Efes will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Baskonia in Vitoria.
