Date: January 22, 2020
Euroleague top team - Turkish Fenerbahce (9-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Russian Dynamo Kursk (4-7) in Istanbul 76-55. The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce. Dynamo Kursk was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Italian forward Cecilia Zandalasini (183-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 23 points for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Fenerbahce. Defending Turkish champion maintains first place in Group B with 9-2 record. Dynamo Kursk lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Fenerbahce will face league's second-placed Schio on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dynamo Kursk will play against Argon Uni Girona (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
