The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But EWE Baskets won second period 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Umana Venezia won last quarter 25-22. Umana Venezia outrebounded EWE Baskets 43-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American-Dominican forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: RMU) chipped in 16 points. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90, agency: BeoBasket) produced 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Tyler Larson (191-91, college: S.Dakota) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game.
