An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bourges. First ranked Russian UMMC Ekaterinburg faced 3rd placed French Bourges. Guests from Ekaterinburg (12-1) smashed host Bourges (8-5) 87-51. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bourges. The game without a history. UMMC Ekaterinburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bourges to just 6 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Hungarian-American point guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 6 assists. Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-94, college: GWU) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alexia Chartereau (189-98) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin-Serbian Ana Dabovic (183-89) added 15 points in the effort for Bourges. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending Russian champion maintains first place in Group A with 12-1 record. Bourges at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. They share it with Nadezhda O.. UMMC Ekaterinburg will play against bottom-ranked Cukurova (#8) in Mersin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bourges will play on the road against Nadezhda Orenburg (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
