Seventh-ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (12-13) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (17-8) on Friday. The visitors from Tel-Aviv managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 27-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek-American Tyler Dorsey (193-96, college: Oregon, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists. Liberian-American center Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee Services) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) answered with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) added 19 points in the effort for Valencia Basket. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Maccabi T-A have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Israeli champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with CSKA. Valencia Basket at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Maccabi T-A is looking forward to face Olympiacos (#8) in Pireus in the next round. Valencia Basket will play at home against Fenerbahce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
