Important game to mention about took place in Moscow. Third ranked Spanish FC Barcelona (20-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Russian CSKA (17-9) 82-80 on Thursday evening. CSKA was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 26-20 third quarter run of FC Barcelona. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Montenegrin-Spanish Nikola Mirotic (208-91) notched 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American Cory Higgins (195-89, college: Colorado, agency: Network Sports International) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by American swingman Darrun Hilliard (198-93, college: Villanova, agency: Wasserman) did not help to save the game for CSKA. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. FC Barcelona have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Madrid. CSKA will play against Zenit (#18) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
