Regular Season Round 26: Valencia - Fenerbahce 86-93

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Turkish Fenerbahce (12-14) beat on the road 7th ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (12-14) 93-86. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-14. But Valencia Basket won second period 27-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce shot 66.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American Derrick Williams (203-91, college: Arizona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). French guard Nando De-Colo (196-87) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Serbian Vanja Marinkovic (198-97, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 22 points and Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points in the effort for Valencia Basket. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Valencia and Khimki. Fenerbahce's next round opponent will be Crvena Zvezda (#14) in Beograd and are hoping to win another game.
