Rather expected game in Istanbul where 14th ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (2-5) was edged by twelfth ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (3-3) 91-89 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 24-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for German center Tibor Pleiss (221-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Defending Israeli champion Maccabi T-A dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Panathinaikos (#13) in Athens in the next round. Maccabi T-A will play at home against the league's second-placed Zalgiris having rather not much hope for a victory.
