Regular Season Round 11: Crvena Zvezda - Anadolu Efes 64-75

There was no surprise in Belgrade where 13th ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (4-7) was defeated by eighth ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (6-4) 75-64 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Anadolu Efes. Crvena Zvezda was better in fourth quarter 14-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anadolu Efes shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was French forward Adrien Moerman (202-88) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American-Turkish guard Shane Larkin (182-92, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. American guard Corey Walden (188-92, college: EKU) produced 14 points and the other American import Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Crvena Zvezda's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Turkish champion moved-up to sixth place. Loser Crvena Zvezda dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Baskonia (#10) in Vitoria in the next round. Crvena Zvezda will play on the road against Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and hope to win that game.
