There was no surprise in Istanbul where 13th ranked Turkish Fenerbahce (5-9) was defeated by eighth ranked Italian Armani Milano (8-5) 79-71 on Tuesday. Fenerbahce trailed by 20 points after 3 quarters before a 23-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-79 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American center Zach LeDay (202-94, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Wasserman) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. American-Serbian guard Kevin Punter (192-93, college: Tennessee) chipped in 13 points. Canadian forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton, agency: BeoBasket) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and German forward Danilo Barthel (208-91, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Armani Milano moved-up to seventh place. Loser Fenerbahce keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Armani Milano will face Anadolu Efes (#10) in Istanbul in the next round.
