The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Spanish FC Barcelona as it allowed them to take a leadership position. FC Barcelona defeated 18th ranked Russian Khimki at home 87-74. The game was mostly controlled by FC Barcelona. Khimki managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game, while Khimki only scored seven points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for FC Barcelona especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with CSKA. Khimki lost sixth consecutive game. Defending Russian champion stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Khimki will play next round against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. FC Barcelona will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv.
