Regular Season Round 15: Anadolu Efes - AX Armani MI 69-72

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (7-8) to seventh ranked Italian Armani Milano (9-5) 72-69 on Thursday evening. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American-Serbian guard Kevin Punter (192-93, college: Tennessee) who scored 18 points. Danish forward Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Armani Milano's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Armenian-American center Bryant Dunston (203-86) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Armani Milano moved-up to fifth place. Anadolu Efes lost their third game in a row. Defending Turkish champion keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Armani Milano's next round opponent will be Baskonia (#11) in Vitoria which should be theoretically an easy game. Anadolu Efes will play at home against the league's second-placed FC Barcelona and hope to win that game.
