Very important is a road loss of second ranked Spanish FC Barcelona (11-5) against tenth ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (8-8) on Tuesday night. Visiting FC Barcelona was defeated by Anadolu Efes in a tough game in Istanbul 79-86. FC Barcelona was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. The winners were led by American-Turkish guard Shane Larkin (182-92, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Serbian guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Even 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes (197-89, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for FC Barcelona. Nikola Mirotic (208-91) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. FC Barcelona's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Turkish champion moved-up to ninth place. FC Barcelona at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Real Madrid. Anadolu Efes will play against higher ranked Real Madrid (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. FC Barcelona will play against Bayern Muenchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
