Regular Season Round 19: AX Armani MI - Valencia 95-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Spanish Valencia Basket's (10-9) road loss to seventh ranked Italian Armani Milano (11-7) 80-95. The game was mostly controlled by Armani Milano. Valencia Basket was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Armani Milano shot 61.4 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. It was a very good performance for forward Luigi Datome (203-87) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. American forward Derrick Williams (203-91, college: Arizona) answered with 17 points and 5 steals and Serbian forward Nikola Kalinic (202-91) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Valencia Basket. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Armani Milano moved-up to sixth place. Valencia Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Armani Milano's next round opponent will be ALBA Berlin (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Valencia Basket will play against Crvena Zvezda (#15) and hope to win that game.
