Regular Season Round 25: AX Armani MI - Maccabi T-A 87-68
Date: February 18, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (10-13) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Italian Armani Milano (16-8) 87-68. The game without a history. Armani Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. Armani Milano players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Danish forward Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds. American center Kyle Hines (198-86, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Five Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Liberian-American center Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee Services) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Greek-American guard Tyler Dorsey (196-96, college: Oregon, agency: Wasserman) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Maccabi T-A. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Armani Milano moved-up to second place, which they share with CSKA. Defending Israeli champion Maccabi T-A dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Armani Milano's next round opponent will be Zenit (#7) in Sankt Petersburg which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi T-A will play on the road against Bayern Muenchen (#5) and hope to win that game.
