Regular Season Round 32: Valencia - Olympiacos 79-88

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Greek Olympiacos (15-17) defeated on the road 9th ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (17-15) 88-79 on Wednesday. Valencia Basket trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 33 after three quarters before a 38-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 79-88 at the end of the game. Olympiacos made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Cypriot-Bulgarian forward Aleksandar Vezenkov (206-95) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Georgios Printezis (205-85, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Fernando San-Emeterio (199-84) produced 11 points and Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos maintains twelfth position with 15-17 record. Loser Valencia Basket dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Olympiacos will face higher ranked Real Madrid (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
