Regular Season Round 12: Milano - Olympiacos 72-93

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Italian Milano (8-4) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Greek Olympiacos (8-4) 93-72 on Friday. The game without a history. Olympiacos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Olympiacos shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was Giannoulis Larentzakis (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points. American-Greek Tyler Dorsey (196-96, college: Oregon) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Danish forward Shavon Shields (201-94, college: Nebraska) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and Spanish guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) added 8 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos moved-up to third place, which they share with Milano and Zenit. Milano lost third consecutive game. Olympiacos will meet Unics (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Milano will play against ALBA Berlin (#14) and hope to secure a win.
