Regular Season Round 14: Monaco - Milano 65-71

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked French Monaco (5-9) lost at home to fourth ranked Italian Milano (9-5) 71-65 on Friday. Monaco trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 21-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 65-71 at the end of the game. Spanish guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) notched 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American center Kyle Hines (198-86, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Even 19 points and 6 assists by American guard Paris Lee (183-95, college: Illinois St.) did not help to save the game for Monaco. Serbian guard Danilo Andjusic (194-91) added 12 points for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Milano moved-up to third place, which they share with CSKA and Olympiacos. Monaco lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Milano will meet at home Panathinaikos (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Monaco will play against Zalgiris (#18) in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
