Regular Season Round 22: CSKA - Milano 57-67
Date: January 21, 2022
Everything went according to plan in Moscow where third ranked Italian Milano (13-6) beat 6th ranked Russian CSKA (12-8) 67-57 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Milano. CSKA managed to win second period 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. American center Kyle Hines (198-86, agency: BeoBasket) fired 12 points for the winners. The other American import swingman Devon Hall (196-95, college: Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points. Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-91) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and Danish guard Gabriel Lundberg (193-94) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Milano have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-6 record having just three points less than leader Real Madrid. Defending Russian champion CSKA dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Milano will meet at home bottom-ranked Zalgiris (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CSKA will play against Unics (#6) in Kazan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
