Everything went according to plan in Istanbul where eleventh ranked Turkish Efes (12-11) beat 13th ranked French ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (9-15) 78-72 on Friday. Efes forced 19 ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket turnovers. Strangely ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket outrebounded Efes 36-23 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American-Turkish guard Shane Larkin (182-92, college: Miami, FL) fired 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Croatian Krunoslav Simon (197-85) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds.
