Regular Season Round 27: Olympiacos - Milano 67-58

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Italian Milano (17-8) against fifth ranked Greek Olympiacos (15-9) on Thursday night. Visiting Milano was defeated by Olympiacos in a tough game in Pireus 58-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Milano. Olympiacos shot 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Milano only scored nine points from the stripe. Milano was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Kostas Sloukas (190-1990) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 4 assists. Cypriot-Bulgarian Aleksandar Vezenkov (206-1995) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nicolo Melli (205-1991) with 9 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Devon Hall (196-1995, college: Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Milano at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Olympiacos will play against Bayern Muenchen (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Milano will play against Panathinaikos (#16) in Athens and hopes to get back on the winning track.
