Italian Milano (#4) was upset in Tel-Aviv by seventh ranked Israeli Maccabi Tel-Aviv 75-58. Maccabi Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Milano's 30. Croatian center Ante Zizic (209-1997, agency: BeoBasket) fired 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American center Jalen Reynolds (208-1992, college: Xavier) chipped in 14 points. Nicolo Melli (205-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Danish forward Shavon Shields (201-1994, college: Nebraska) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Milano's coach tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending Israeli champion (12-11) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bayern. Loser Milano keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will meet at home league's second-placed Real Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Milano will play against Efes in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
