There was a minor upset when Hungarian Szekszard (1-1) was defeated on the road by Spanish Valencia (1-1) 74-59 on Wednesday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valencia made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for swingman Queralt Casas (177-1992) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Lauren Cox (193-1998, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 15 points. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. Valencia's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Victoria Vivians (187, college: MSU) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American-Hungarian forward Cyesha Goree (188-1993, college: Michigan) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Valencia will meet at home Bourges (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Szekszard will play against Olympiacos (#16) and hope to win that game.
