Regular Season Round 7: Olympiacos - Partizan 87-58

Very expected game in Piraeus where 11th ranked Serbian Partizan (3-4) was rolled over by fourth ranked Greek Olympiacos (5-2) 87-58 on Thursday. Olympiacos forced 19 Partizan turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Olympiacos looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Cypriot-Bulgarian forward Aleksandar Vezenkov (206-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Kostas Sloukas (190-1990) helped adding 17 points and 8 assists. Olympiacos' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward James Nunnally (201-1990, college: UCSB) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and French center Mathias Lessort (206-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending Greek champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Barca and Monaco. Loser Partizan dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Olympiacos will meet Bayern Muenchen (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Partizan will play against Maccabi Tel-Aviv (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
