One of the most interesting games of round 11 was a derby match between two teams from France. Third ranked Monaco won against host ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (3-8) 84-75. Monaco dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's 34. Monaco forced 21 ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Mike James (185-1990, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket lost their fifth game in a row. Defending French champion keeps the sixteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Milano and ALBA. Monaco will play against Real Madrid (#4) on the road in the next round. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will play against the league's second-placed Barca (#2) in Barcelona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
