Regular Season Round 12: Zalgiris - Anadolu Efes 60-86
Date: December 9, 2022
Very significant was Turkish Efes' (#7) 26-point road victory against 8th ranked Lithuanian Zalgiris 86-60. Efes had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. The winners were led by French Rodrigue Beaubois (190-1988, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 assists and Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-1994, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 19 points and 5 assists. Even 15 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Tyler Cavanaugh (206-1994, college: GWU) did not help to save the game for Zalgiris. Edgaras Ulanovas (199-1992) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Efes (7-5) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Baskonia. Zalgiris at the other side keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Efes will play against Baskonia (#6) in Vitoria in the next round. Zalgiris will play on the road against Crvena Zvezda in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
