There was no surprise in Istanbul where 12th ranked Greek Panathinaikos (6-9) were outplayed by ninth ranked Turkish Efes (8-7) 88-69 on Friday. Efes made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Will Clyburn (201-1990, college: Iowa St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-1994, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Efes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Dwayne Bacon (201-1995, college: FSU) who recorded 20 points and the other American import forward Derrick Williams (203-1991, college: Arizona) added 13 points respectively.
