Very predictable result when eighth ranked Spanish Valencia (4-3) edged on the road 13th ranked Italian Bologna (2-5) 75-73 on Wednesday. Valencia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was German center Marie Guelich (194-1994, college: Oregon St.) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Center Raquel Carrera (188-2001) chipped in 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Cheyenne Parker (193-1992, college: MTSU) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Cecilia Zandalasini (189-1996) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Valencia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Bologna lost third consecutive game.
