Regular Season Round 18: Monaco - Olympiacos 64-60

There was a change at the Euroleague leadership position after last games. Round 18 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Greek Olympiacos (11-7). They were defeated by third ranked French Monaco (12-6) 64-60 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olympiacos. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American guard Mike James (185-1990, college: Lamar) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Guinean-American forward Alpha Diallo (201-1997, college: Providence) chipped in 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Kostas Sloukas (190-1990) with 10 points and 4 assists and French center Moustapha Fall (216-1992) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Olympiacos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Monaco keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Real Madrid and Barca. Defending Greek champion Olympiacos dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Baskonia and Fenerbahce. They were replaced at the leadership position by Barca. Olympiacos will play next round against Virtus BO trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Monaco will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Crvena Zvezda in Beograd.
