Regular Season Round 19: Barca - Anadolu Efes 75-80

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Spanish Barca (12-7) against tenth ranked Turkish Efes (10-9) on Friday night. Host Barca was defeated by Efes in a tough game in Barcelona 75-80. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-1994, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Turkish guard Shane Larkin (182-1992, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Efes players scored in double figures. American Cory Higgins (196-1989, college: Colorado) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and Nikola Mirotic (208-1991) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Barca. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Efes moved-up to eighth place, which they share with M.Tel-Aviv and Crvena Zvezda. Barca at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Efes will play against Bayern Muenchen (#14) in Munich in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Barca will play on the road against Baskonia (#6) in Vitoria and hopes to get back on the winning track.
