Regular Season Round 29: Real Madrid - Milano 91-87
Date: March 16, 2023
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Italian Milano (12-16) lost on the road to second ranked Spanish Real Madrid (20-9) 91-87 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Real Madrid made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Bosnian swingman Dzanan Musa (205-1999, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Cape Verdean-Spanish center Walter Tavares (220-1992) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. Puerto Rican-American point guard Shabazz Napier (185-1991, college: UConn) came up with 17 points and 8 assists and power forward Nicolo Melli (205-1991) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Milano in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Spanish champion maintains second place with 20-9 record behind leader Olympiacos. Defending Italian champion Milano keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Real Madrid will meet Virtus BO (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Milano will play against Fenerbahce in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
